Gurugram-based AI startup Brekfuz has raised $525,000 in funding from investors including Pear VC, Pareto Holdings, angel investors and Collective Global, the company said on Tuesday, with the latest funding round valuing the company at $7.5 million.
Founded by Arhan Singhal (18), an artificial intelligence student at the University of Pennsylvania, and Sarthak Ahuja (19), a computer science student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Brekfuz is building what it describes as a “Human API” — a knowledge layer that captures institutional context and makes it accessible to both employees and AI-powered tools. The two founders hail from Gurgaon in Haryana.
The platform allows employees and AI systems to search for information across these sources using natural language, including Slack, email, documents, meetings, and GitHub. The company says the software is designed to reduce dependence on individual employees for information on processes, decisions and ownership within organisations.
“As companies race to become AI-first, a new challenge is coming into focus: enabling AI systems to access institutional knowledge, not just structured data,” the press release stated, with Brekfuz positioning itself as the infrastructure layer that bridges this gap, helping companies make their people, processes, and decisions searchable, accessible, and actionable.
In addition to backing from Pear VC, Pareto Holdings and Collective Global, the startup has participated in the Z Fellows programme. The company did not disclose how it plans to use the fresh capital or whether it intends to expand its team following the fundraise.
Brefkuz's software integrates communication platforms, documentation systems, meeting records, code repositories, and project management tools to create a searchable record of organisational knowledge. Users can ask questions in natural language and receive responses linked to the source material.
Before Brekfuz, Singhal worked on AI projects including a firearm detection system using CCTV footage, an agricultural rover, and AI research. Ahuja previously founded GR8ER, an online academic network for International Baccalaureate students, and developed an AI-based screening system for hypertensive retinopathy used by doctors serving rural communities in India.
