GUNTUR: All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary G Usha Naidu of Guntur has been appointed as party’s elections in-charge for Rajasthan.
Usha has been acting as party affairs in-charge for Gujarat. She was asked to immediately move to Jaipur to coordinate the party’s election preparations. AICC general secretary KC Venugopal directed Usha to coordinate party president Mallikharjuna Kharge’s programmes in Rajasthan during the election campaign.
Usha, a national shuttle badminton player and coach, has been very active in national politics as she has been working for different organisations of AICC for the past two decades. She worked as chairperson of Rajiv Gandhi panchayat Sanghatan, APCC general secretary in the past. She was the only woman to represent the state at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) leadership conference. “It is a privilege for me to work for the party’s victory in Rajasthan. We are going to sweep the elections and win Rajasthan,” said Usha Naidu.
She explained that people were vexed with Narendra Modi’s fake promises and false campaign against the Congress party. She said that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has virtually created ripples in the BJP as it was worried about its prospects in the coming elections to the five state assemblies.
