Gunshots fired on Salford street

Gunshots have been fired in a Salford street this evening.

Police were called to Booths Hall Way, in Worsley, just before 6.30pm this evening after reports of shots fired in the area.

The road is shut off between Highclove Lane and A572 Leigh Road.

A police scene has been in place since and is expected to remain overnight.

Nobody is reported to have been injured in the incident, GMP have said tonight.

A GMP spokesman said: "Just before 6.30pm this evening (10 June 2021), officers were called to a report of shots fired on Booths Hall Way in Worsley, Salford.

"No one is reported to have been injured at this time.

"An investigation is underway and a scene is in place whilst officers carry out a number of enquiries.

"Anyone with information is asked to report it online or by using the LiveChat facility on www.gmp.police.uk.

"Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
