Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler is being treated in hospital for stab wounds.

The famous drummer had recently performed with his new outfit Adler’s Appetite.

He is best known as the former drummer and co-songwriter of Guns N’ Roses. As part of the original five, with Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan and Izzy Stradlin, he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s.

But he was dismissed from the band in 1990, which his bandmates blamed on his drug use.

Six years after the band dropped him, Steven had a heart attack and two strokes from a cocktail of heroin and cocaine.

Adler has been part of shows including Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew and Sober House.

News of his hospital dash comes after his former band announced plans for a new US tour.

They will be hitting the road in the autumn for the Not In This Lifetime Tour, which is part of the reunion tour they kicked off three years ago.

He later gave a candid account of the dark periods in his life in his autobiography My Appetite for Destruction: Sex & Drugs & Guns N' Roses.

Adler performed live Guns N’ Roses were inducted into the Rock N Roll hall of fame in 2012 - but has not rejoined the band since.
