Guns N' Roses star Matt Sorum set to become a dad for first time at 60

Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum is gearing up to be a dad for the first time at 60.

The Grammy award-winning musician and his dancer wife Ace Harper, 36, earlier this week shared the happy news that they're expecting a baby.

Revealing that the pair - who wed in 2013 - are expecting a baby girl, Matt shared a clip of themselves discovering the sex of their unborn baby by cutting a slice out of a pink cake.

"We are beyond elated with God's gift of our baby girl," the pair told People.

"Of all the beautiful adventures we've been fortunate enough to have in our lives, there is nothing that compares to the joy we feel of finally creating our own family."

"We're excited to show our child all the wonderful experiences life has to offer," they added.

Matt and Ace struck up a romance in 2004, before the drummer finally popped the all-important question in 2011.

The pair then went on to tie the knot in a lavish Palm Springs ceremony in 2013.

A-listers such as Steven Tyler, Juliette Lewis, Jane Lynch, John Stamos, Dave Navarro and GNR musician Slash in attendance on their special day.

Ace - who is a professional dancer - enjoyed a glittering career of back-up dancing for stars like Jennifer Lopez, P!nk and Lenny Kravitz.

After stepping away from the stage, she's focused on creating her very own namesake fashion brand which she hopes to launch later this year.

Meanwhile Matt found fame as a member of band Guns N' Roses, with the drummer also being a member of Velvet Revolver in the past.

Recently, he co-wrote and co-produced rocker Billy Gibbons' next album.
