Guns N’ Roses set to release second new track The General

Guns N’ Roses has revealed that they will release a second new song, The General.

The track will feature as a B-side of the vinyl version of their other new single Perhaps, which will be out October 27.

On Friday, the legendary US rockers performed Perhaps live for the first time, at the PNC Park in Pittsburgh on the same day the single was released digitally.

“Forgive me if I don’t run around and try to project as much because I’m gonna try to figure out how to f*****g sing it live,” said frontman Axl Rose as he introduced the song. “I like to think of when we wrote this song it was like the immaculate inception.”

Following the performance, the delighted star said: “Thank you. Now that was an experience.”

Rose and his bandmates, Slash and Duff McKagan are credited on Perhaps, which has its roots in their Chinese Democracy sessions.

Their longtime production manager Tom Mayhue has also said that even more new Guns N’ Roses music is in the works and wuill be heavily inspired by their iconic Appetite For Destruction album.

“I know that the band’s gonna start working on new music. They’ve got a bunch of stuff recorded already. So there will be new Guns N’ Roses music very soon,” he said (via Blabbermouth). “In fact, I think they’re trying to get a single out any day now, so you may hear something very, very soon.”

“It sounds great," he continued. "It’s a lot more kind of Appetite-orientated,” he explained. “They had a lot of songs. When the band went in originally and recorded Appetite For Destruction, I think they recorded, like, 29 songs.

“So there’s a bunch of other music that was left over that didn’t make the first record. I think there’s only 11 songs on the first record.” The news follows the band’s headline slot at Glastonbury this year.
