Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler in hospital after 'stabbing himself in stomach'

Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler is in hospital in Los Angeles after reportedly stabbing himself in stomach.

The musician, who was a member of the band during their 1980s hey day, was taken to a medical facility after emergency services were called to his home last night.

TMZ.com reports, cops were told someone at the scene had stabbed themselves and Adler was later found with a wound to his abdomen.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and no one else is believed to have been involved in the incident.

Adler shot to fame with the band in the 1980s alongside Axl Rose and Slash.

However, he was booted out of the band after spiralling into drug addiction.

Despite his issues, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the group in 2012.

The rocker now plays with his own band, Adler's Appetite, performing Guns N' Roses hits.

He's also branched out in reality TV in recent years, taking part in programs addressing his past drug addiction.

Adler has been part of shows including Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew and Sober House.

News of his hospital dash comes after his former band announced plans for a new US tour.

They will be hitting the road in the autumn for the Not In This Lifetime Tour, which is part of the reunion tour they kicked off three years ago.
