A man accused of going on a month-long break-in spree across Lake Macquarie and the Central Coast, stealing guns, cars and collectable trading cards, will remain behind bars.
Lake Macquarie and Tuggerah Lakes police launched a joint investigation into reports of multiple break-ins between May and June.
Officers were told a thief had struck eight locations at Tuggerah, Charmhaven and Ourimbah on the Central Coast, and Cooranbong at Lake Macquarie, during that time.
Police allege the man stole items including guns, ammunition, cars, cash and collectable trading cards.
Extensive investigations led police to raid a property at Tacoma South, on the Central Coast, about 8am on Wednesday, August 12.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized a number of items believed to have been used in the alleged incidents, including a rifle scope and a slingshot.
Police say small amounts of methamphetamine and buprenorphine were also located and seized for forensic examination.
Gregory Hart, 32, was arrested at the property and later charged at Wyong police station.
He faces a string of serious allegations, including five counts of breaking and entering, one count of aggravated break and enter, taking and driving a car without consent, and participating in a criminal group.
He was also charged with receiving stolen property, possessing or using a weapon without a permit, possessing an unauthorised firearm and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.
Police will allege in court that the man had stashed a firearm in bushland near Mardi after earlier stealing it from a property at Cooranbong in June.
Hart did not appear in a bail division court on Thursday and was refused bail.
He did not enter any pleas and the matter was adjourned to Wyong Local Court on August 26.
