Guns, 500 rounds of ammunition stolen from rural property

SEVEN firearms and 500 rounds of ammunition have been stolen from a gun safe at a Hunter Valley property, police say.

Between 11pm on Friday and 8.30am on Saturday, the weapons were allegedly taken from the gun safe, which was inside a shipping container at a rural property on Bell Road, Lower Belford, NSW Police said.

The stolen firearms include a Remington 223 calibre, a Winchester lever 22 calibre, a Marlin 3333, a Remington 222 calibre, a Rossi double barrel shotgun, a Gamo 177 air rifle and a Pardus 12 gauge shotgun.

Anyone who has been offered these firearms for sale, or is aware of them being advertised, should immediately contact police or Crime Stoppers, police said.

Investigations are ongoing.
