The identity of the gunman who carried out one of the most sinister murder plots on Merseyside in recent years remains a mystery.
Thomas ‘Tommy’ Baker was shot dead as he left a gym five years ago.
Detectives today appealed for anyone with details that could help his family get justice to contact police.

Mr Baker was shot in the head and chest by a killer who had been lying in wait.
The 44-year-old was leaving Phoenix Gym, based in the Stanley Meat Market complex, at around 8.15am when he was attacked as he approached his black BMW.
The gunman fled the scene in a silver Volkswagen Polo that had been parked next to his victim’s car.
He is thought to have been behind the driver’s wheel as the vehicle turned right onto Prescot Road before being driven down Balmoral Road, through side streets onto Queens Road and towards Everton Valley.
Police believe the attack on Mr Baker, who was from Everton, was targeted.
The investigation into the murder has led to five people being questioned.
But five years on, no one has been charged with any criminal offence in connection with the shooting.
On the latest anniversary to pass without Mr Baker’s family having witnessed justice, Detective Superintendent Sue Coombs, of Merseyside Police, said: “It’s been five years since Thomas Baker was shot in broad daylight and his family have not received any justice.
“We remain determined as ever to find who was responsible for Thomas’ death.
“We know over time that loyalties and allegiances change and I would appeal to anyone who knows who was responsible for the shooting to get in touch so that we can take action.
“Firearms have no place on the streets of Merseyside and the person or people responsible deserve to be behind bars.
“We need the community or those who are shielding the killer to do the right thing and come forward.
“I would also appeal to anyone who has any knowledge of a silver VW Polo which was seen outside the gym on the morning of Mr Baker’s death to get in touch.
"It is believed the gunman was driving the car, which after leaving the gym car park turned right onto Prescot Road in the direction of Liverpool city centre.
“I want anyone who saw anything or has information about this case to ring us or call Crimestoppers anonymously. It is vital that we receive information from our communities to tackle gun crime and get these weapons off our streets.”
