LOS ANGELES_Multiple people were shot Friday at a business in Long Beach, authorities said.
Long Beach police said they responded to the location amid reports of an active shooter at large. They said they found multiple casualties, but said it was no longer considered an active shooting scene.
Authorities said the gunman is "believed to be deceased at the scene."
The incident occurred about 2:30 p.m. in the Bixby Knolls area.
No details were immediately available, but the area was blocked off by police and fire crews. Several ambulances were on the scene.
Several witnesses said the shooting occurred in a building that housed a law office.
By 4 p.m., dozens of police officers remain in area, though some of the ambulances that had been stationed at the area had left.
