Two unidentified militants were on Thursday killed during a search and cordon operation in north Kashmir’s Sopore.

“Two militants have been killed in the operation in Sopore’s Hardshiva area. Their identities and affiliations were being ascertained,” said a police official.
The militants were encircled in a pre-dawn operation launched jointly by the Army, the police and the CRPF. The hiding militants opened fire on the search party, triggering an encounter.
“Searches are on in the area,” said the police.
Meanwhile, mobile internet services have been suspended in Sopore as a precautionary measure.
