Gun thug gives middle finger to police as he's sent down

A gun thug gave a middle finger salute to police as he was jailed for minding a loaded revolver for teen gangsters.

Nathan Kelly was a regular customer of 16-year-old gang leader Harry O'Brien - the baby-faced cannabis dealer behind three terrifying shootings and a firebombing in Dingle.

O'Brien was sentenced yesterday alongside other members of his crew, who brought terror to the streets of South Liverpool. Despite being more than a decade older, Nathan Kelly, then 27, was said to have a "close" relationship with O'Brien.

A "friendly and hard working" pastry chef went to sleep and never woke up.

Cara Danielle Moroney, 34, died suddenly at her flat in Waterloo Warehouse on Waterloo Road, Liverpool, on January 3. The 34-year-old, originally from Burnley, had started working at Lerpwl on Albert Dock in April last year, where her colleagues said she became known for her "hard work, dedication and mischievous grin."

An inquest into her death was held today, April 29, at Gerard Majella Courthouse in Liverpool. Senior coroner Andre Rebello recorded her death as accidental.

Man carrying sports bag full of cannabis caught in neighbour's garden

A zombie knife and a bag full of drugs were seized by police after a man led officers on a foot chase through his neighbours' gardens.

Officers from Merseyside Police arrested a wanted man on Wednesday, April 27 after he attempted to flee a house with a bag full of cannabis. Police attended the house in Halewood at around 10am to arrest the man but he tried to make off through a back door carrying a large sports bag.

Police detained the man in a neighbour's garden following a short foot pursuit and found the bag contained a significant quantity of cannabis. A search of the house followed and officers discovered 1.5kg of cannabis, 22 cannabis seedlings, drug paraphernalia associated with the supply of drugs, and a large zombie knife.
