Gun shots fired at window of house just before midnight during 'targeted attack'

Gun shots were fired at the window of a house during a 'targeted attack' in Bolton.

Police were called to reports of a firearm discharged on St Helens Road, in the Daubhill area, just before midnight on Wednesday, May 29.

There were no injuries to the people inside the property at the time, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed.

GMP said there will be an increased police presence in the area while an investigation takes place.

A statement released by GMP said: "It is believed to be a targeted attack.

"There is not currently believed to be any wider risk to the community."

St Helens Road has been sealed off between Crane Street and Edge Hill Road while police investigate.

Neighbours in the area have described hearing a loud 'bang' at the time of the incident.

There were no reports of any injuries (ASP)

No arrests have been made at this stage.
