Gun seized after police raid home in Rusholme as part of major organised crime investigation

A major investigation into organised crime in the north west was behind a police swoop on a home in Dickenson Road, Rusholme .

Police recovered a gun in the raid but have refused to give further details of  the exact nature of the operation.

In a statement GMP said: "Greater Manchester Police can confirm officers executed a firearms warrant in Rusholme yesterday, Tuesday 16 July.

"Officers carried out a search of a property in Rusholme at around 10pm last night.

A gun was seized and three people arrested

"A firearm was recovered and one man and two women, all aged 27, have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm. All three remain in police custody."

It is understood the raid was the result of a covert operation lasting several months.
