A gun has been recovered from the River Clyde in Glasgow.
Police were called to Dalmarnock Bridge in Glasgow at around 12.45pm on Saturday to ensure the weapon was safe.
The handgun was found in the water by magnet fishers.
Mark McGeachin, co-founder of the Glasgow Magnet Fishing group, said the badly rusted and damaged gun was recovered by a member of the group.
Mark asked the group member who made the discovery - called Andy - about the gun on a video shared on social media.
Andy said it was a “9mm” handgun and may have originated from around the time of the Second World War, adding: “What make is anybody’s guess.”
Andy added that the weapon was still cocked.
The find was made during an organised socially-distanced meet.
Several police are seen in online videos speaking to members of the magnet group.
Later Mark posted a message on his Facebook page saying the group had been “banned” from the bridge.
He wrote: “Just to let yeez all know GMF are now banned from Dalmarnock bridge. We have had oor fun.
“Lots of bridges on the clyde tho.
“I do understand its dangerous stuff we are pulling up but its us thats taking the risk and breaking no laws. So nice knowing you Dalmarnock bridge.”
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
Last month, police cordoned off the bridge after the group found an unexploded ordnance in the water.
