Gun pointed at man from car window on busy Pollokshields junction

A gun was pointed at a man from a car on a busy Pollokshields junction this Friday.

The incident occurred at around 5.10 pm, when a witness reported seeing a man, described as being white and wearing a black jacket with a white logo on the sleeve, pointing a gun at another man at the junction of Maxwell Square and Leslie Street.

The man in the street in described as being white and about 5'5" in height. He was bald and was wearing dark clothing.

The man presented the gun from the front passenger seat of the car, which is believed to be a grey 3 or 5 series BMW.

No-one was injured and the gun was not fired. There is no additional description of the weapon available.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information that could identify either of the men to come forward.

Detective Constable David Adam, the officer in charge of the investigation, said: "This would have been a frightening incident for the man who had the firearm pointed at him. This is a busy junction and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area and who may have witnessed the incident to contact me as a matter of urgency." 

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 - quoting incident 3122 of 24 May 2019. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
