Operation Pelican is an ongoing police campaign and was launched in 2017 to combat the drug trade and gang violence in Bootle, Netherton, Litherland and the surrounding areas. It has had several notable successes due to its specific targeting and pursuit of intelligence gathering in the region.
Sergeant Kris Allinson said: “We are in the early stages of an investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward so we can find those responsible. This firearm, like others we seize, looks extremely realistic. Although not a viable firearm, they can be used to cause fear in our communities."
