A gun has been found on a set of steps outside Breckfield Road Jobcentre this afternoon.
Merseyside Police made the shocking discovery at 2:40pm today, when they found the air pistol lying outside a building on Breckfield Road North in Everton.
The weapon has since been seized by officers who are working together to establish how it ended up there in the first place.
It is the second security issue to concern a Jobcentre this week, after a security guard was stabbed in the back at Belle Vale Jobcentre on Childwall Valley Road on Monday afternoon.
Enquiries are ongoing in Everton as a result of the latest investigation.
