Gun found in river during search for Eden Waugh murder weapon

Police investigating the murder of Canberra man Eden Waugh have pulled a gun and a crowbar from the Queanbeyan River.

Police began searching the area late last month, after receiving "credible" information about items linked to the killing.

The item are being examined by forensics teams.

Mr Waugh, 37, was shot dead with a sawn-off shotgun at his Watson flat in Canberra's north in November 2016, in front of his girlfriend.

In the days before the search of the river began, police charged 29-year-old Taniela Manu Pikula as an accessory to murder.

It was alleged in court he helped two men, Tavake Lee Pikula and Jason Pikula Carroll, who police suspect of shooting Mr Waugh.

Neither man has been charged over the killing, however police have said they expected to make further arrests in the investigation.
