Gun found in Glasgow home as cops lock down street and launch probe

Cops have swooped on a Glasgow street after a gun was found in a home.

The firearm was discovered in a property in Barfillan Drive, in the Cardonald area of the city, this morning.

Witnesses reported seeing officers on the street enter a home, with the alarm was raised to cops around 10.15am this morning.

A probe is now underway into the 'circumstances' of the find.

The weapon has now been safely removed from the home.

It is unclear what type of gun it was.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that a firearm was found within a property in Barfillan Drive in Glasgow at around 10.15am.

""It was safely recovered and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
