Gulf-Chinese Meeting Tackles Free Trade File

Gulf and Chinese officials meet in Wuxi. (GCC)

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf held talks on Tuesday with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang and State Councillor Yi in China's city of Wuxi.

The meeting tackled free trade negotiations between the GCC and China and preparations to hold the tenth round of talks between them.

They stressed the importance of pushing forward the file further and completing it to achieve joint interests, especially since China is the GCC's top trade partner.

The two sides underscored the importance of bolstering cooperation in strategic, economic, health and development domains.

They also discussed the latest regional and international developments of common interest and the need to bolster regional security and stability.

Al-Hajraf highlighted the ties of friendship and cooperation that bind the Gulf and China, saying the GCC was keen on consolidating them to achieve joint interests.
