Gujarat high court launches service for digitally signed, e-certified court orders

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat high court is launching a new e-service by which litigants and lawyers using its Email My Case Status (EMCS) can get digitally signed e-certified copies of HC judgments.

Gujarat HC’s IT Cell announced that all registered users of EMCS Live Portfolio can apply online for digitally signed e-certified copies of any of HC’s orders and judgments. The payment of charges can be accepted online through net banking, UPI and credit cards.

The availability of e-certified copies of digitally signed orders will spare litigants a visit to the high court by making the process more accessible and convenient. “It shall be endeavoured to supply the digitally signed e-certified copy within two working days of successful payment of charges. The e-certified copy including the facility of cross verification of authenticity through QR Code, once prepared, will become available automatically in the live portfolio and shall also be sent in email to the applicant,” IT Cell said in a media statement.

The charges of e-certified copy of orders would be the same as ordinary charges currently applied, and they will be paid online only.

The Gujarat HC has launched EMCS Live Portfolio as a case management system offering several functionalities that enable EMCS subscribers and lawyers to access real-time updates of pending and disposed cases while also getting a dashboard view of their whole portfolio including listed and upcoming cases. Orders and judgments of the subscribed cases are also available and can be downloaded through this dashboard.
