RAJKOT: Pilot of 108 emergency services ambulance committed suicide in Keshod town of Junagadh, alleging mental harassment by his two superiors.
Mahendra Dave, 37, consumed insecticide used in grains, at his house on Monday. Dave was first taken to Junagadh Civil Hospital but shifted to Rajkot as his condition deteriorated. He died on Tuesday evening. Dave told Rajkot police in his statement that his two superiors in Junagadh had been inflicting mental trauma on him by frequently transferring him. He was posted in Keshod then Una and Bhuj before Manavadar where he last served.
He told police that he had sought transfer to his hometown Keshod several times, citing his family responsibilities. But the duo allegedly did not heed to his requests. Dave has two children and four other siblings.
Details were sent to to Keshod police for further action.
