Gujarat: 10-year-old girl cooks up her kidnapping story to avoid tuition in Rajkot

RAJKOT: A ten-year-old Gujarat girl put entire Rajkot city cops on their toes, after she approached, along with her father, Pradhyuman Nagar police station on Friday morning, stating that she was kidnapped in an SUV while she was going to tuition.

After an extreme search operation and blocking all the roads, deputing the team of entire city police with senior IPS officers it was found that the girl had cooked up the story of her kidnapping to avoid tuition as she did not complete her homework.

The girl told police that when she was going to tuition from her house in Popatpara area, an SUV approached there, and she was forced to seat in the car. As the car proceed, they also kidnapped another girl on the way. However this girl was later released under a railway bridge and car the went towards railway station.

According to police as the girl narrated this story the Pradhyuman Nagar police immediately informed city control room, alerted all the police stations and police vans on patrolling.

The senior staff of crime branch, special operation group activated their sources and rushed to the spot.

Talking to media persons, deputy commissioner of police Sudhirkumar Desai said: "The police reached to the crime spot and surfed all the CCTV to know what had happened exactly. The girl is seen walking in CCTV, but nothing was found as she narrated.”

The police thereafter in the presence of her parents and female cops started talking with the girl using tactics and she confessed. "The girl did not want to go to tuition because she did not complete her homework and she narrated a fabricated story which was proved from our investigation as well as the confession of the girl", Desai added.

According to the police she used to refuse to go to tuition often and her mother rebuked her to force her to go for study. It’s possible that this time her fragile mind might have cooked up a story, they said.
