Guinness to use zero-emission transport to deliver kegs across Dublin city

Guinness has announced plans to introduce zero-emission vehicles to its fleet that delivers kegs of stout to pubs across Dublin city.

The first zero-emissions vehicles will be added to the fleet this summer.

Guinness plans to have 70% of its fleet zero-emission by 2025 and 100% by the end of the decade.

One zero-emission vehicle is already in use at St James Gate. It's currently being trialled to transport bulk beer in the Guinness tankers from the famous brewery to Dublin Port.

In a separate plan, Guinness also plans to add four zero-emission vehicles to its fleet that delivers kegs of the black stuff across the city.

"We’re really pleased to announce that we will be introducing the first zero-emission vehicles into our Quality fleet from this summer," said Barry O'Sullivan, Managing Director of Diago Ireland.

"We are committed to reducing our indirect emissions through this initiative and want to play a key role for sustainable transport in the commercial sector in Ireland."

"We are only 263 years into our 9,000-year lease on the St. James’s Gate Brewery, and we are in it for the long haul – for our people, our products and our planet, and we will never settle in pursuit of a better, more sustainable future for everyone."
