Guinness Storehouse opens new €20million Gravity Bar in Dublin

A new €20million Gravity Bar has officially opened in the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.

The expansion will see the bar more than doubled in size, offering visitors views of the Phoenix Park and Dublin mountains.

More than 600 people worked for 16 months and 175,000 man hours to build the new panoramic bar.

The current Gravity Bar opened in 2000 and stands 46 metres high, becoming one of Ireland's central tourist attractions, hosting a staggering 1.7million visitors last year.

It has also been graced by famous names including Queen Elizabeth and Bill Clinton, as well as Tom Cruise and Kylie Minogue.

And just this week the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stopped off at the iconic storehouse on their royal visit.

Speaking at the launch, Paul Carty, Managing Director of the Guinness Storehouse, said: “We have been so proud to see our visitor numbers grow each year, and what better way to celebrate our twentieth year than with the launch of our stunning new Gravity Bar.

"This demonstrates our commitment to the future of tourism here in Ireland and our dedication to giving our guests the best possible visit when they come to the Home of Guinness.

"We look forward to welcoming guests to enjoy what we believe is the very best view of Dublin.”
