Guinness PRO14 dream team shortlist: Eight regional rugby players nominated

Eight players from the Welsh regions have been nominated for the Guinness PRO14 team of the season.

A panel of 75 media members took part in the voting process and a shortlist of three players in every position has been revealed.

The Ospreys, who finished highest out of the Welsh regions, have two representatives on the list in the form of second row Alun Wyn Jones and full-back Dan Evans.

Cardiff Blues have four players on the shortlist with Josh Turnbull, centres Willis Halaholo and Rey Lee-Lo and Matthew Morgan all getting the nod.

Whilst the Scarlets are represented by skipper Ken Owens and outside back Johnny McNicholl.

Italian side Benetton, who enjoyed the best domestic campaign in their history this season, enjoyed the highest number of nominations with seven.

The finalised 'Guinness PRO14 Dream Team' will be revealed on a special Premier Sports broadcast at 8:00pm on May 23.
