Guinness is launching a tiny pop-up pub offering free pints for Christmas

Guinness is launching a tiny Christmas pop-up in London – with a couple of free pints of the black stuff for anyone who squeezes in.

The Irish brewer will welcome small groups for a festive tipple at the new venue in Flat Iron Square, which will only be there from December 5-8.

The cosy space will feature a fireplace, a Christmas playlist, board games and – of course – pints aplenty. As PR stunts go, it's not a bad one.

The compact room has been designed to fit groups of just five – a design based on research from the University of London which suggests five is the perfect group size to enjoy a meaningful conversation.

Londoners can book a visit to the pub here, and each party will be allocated an hour-long slot falling between 1pm and 11.30pm.

Tickets are free, but need to be booked in advance. Passes entitle groups of up to five to two pints each of Guinness on the house.
