Guidance issued over Nottinghamshire covid booster walk-ins following issues

Health officials in Nottinghamshire have urged those wanting their booster vaccination to book ahead instead of trying to get a walk-in.

According to the NHS website, third jabs are available for people with weakened immune systems at Forest Recreation Ground, King's Mill Hospital and Mansfield Vaccination Centre.

However, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group have advised those seeking a booster jab to book in advance.

It follows the frustration of many who were turned away from vaccination sites due to not having a booking.

Amanda Sullivan, accountable officer at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, said: “The local NHS is prioritising bookings for boosters and I would urge eligible people to book a slot to guarantee their jab.

"If you are over 30 you can book on the NHS website or by calling 119. We appreciate the booking systems are very busy at the moment, but we would ask that you keep checking for more availability as it comes online.”

A spokesperson for the CCG added that there was a large capacity for jabs at the Mansfield Vaccination Centre.
