Guest leaves £150,000 Bentley supercar behind at Manchester Travelodge car park

We’ve all done it.

We’re in a rush, trying to get out of the hotel room before check-out time, fumbling about with bags, coats, and keys — and then we forget something.

Usually, we leave behind a toothbrush, or a phone charger.

However, one guest managed to leave behind something a bit more valuable at one Travelodge last year — a £157,000 Bentley Continental GT supercar.

It’s just one of countless weird and wonderful items that have been left behind in Travelodge hotels across Greater Manchester in the last 12 months.

Along with the Bentley, guests have left deeds to a chip shop, a model of Coronation Street, and a throne chair.

That’s alongside a large hamper of Indian sweets, and a top-of-the-line Versace suit.

Fortunately, these items are rarely left — with the most popular forgotten objects being chargers, mobile phones or tablets, toiletry bags, and teddy bears.

Bosses at the hotel chain put the amount of strange lost property down to the boom in holidays taken within the UK due to the pandemic.

“In 2021, following Freedom Day, we welcomed back millions of customers to our 582 UK Travelodge hotels including our hotels in Manchester, and we saw a significant increase in bookings,” Shakila Ahmed said.

“This has led to a range of interesting items being left behind by our customers across our UK hotels.

“This year’s Lost & Found audit includes a rise in holiday themed items, wedding props, precious sentimental items, smart gadgets and beloved pets. This includes a DJI Phantom 4 Drone, a Pomsky called Beyoncé, a 5ft wedding cake piñata, a GT V8 Bentley convertible car and even Cinderella’s shoe.

“When it comes to why so many of our customers forget their treasured items, it’s basically due to us all being time poor, juggling multiple tasks and being in a hurry to get from A to B. In the rush, valuable possessions are easily forgotten.”
