Guest at I'm a Celebrity hotel where axed campmates stay lifts lid on stars

A hotel guests staying at the hotel were I'm a Celebrity campmates stay following their eviction has lifted the lid on her experience with the stars of the show. Celebrities enjoy a stay at the JW Marriott Resort & Spa on Australia's Gold Coast after being eliminated from the reality TV programme.

In previous years, families of the stars and the axed campmates have stayed in the plush Palazzo Versace Hotel. But in a change this years, the guests are staying at the Marriott. Rooms at the Palazzo Versace are said to start at £1,000, whereas the prices at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa start at a slightly more affordable £256.

The campmates are taken to the hotel following evictions, where they are met by family members who are also staying at the hotel.

Liverpool Echo reports that when Boy George arrived at the hotel on Tuesday, he was greeted by his former campmates Sue and Charlene, who, along with others, greeted him with a version of his classic hit Karma Chameleon.

Despite not appearing to get on with the former Health Secretary, the guest said there did not appear to be any tension" between the popstar Matt Hancock's partner Gina Coladangelo.

The hotel guest said: "Everyone was waiting in the lobby as he arrived. They were all chatting and milling about before being told to form up. It was a good atmosphere."

They also hailed Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver as "lovely". The actress, 59, was the third campmate to be evicted.

The guest said: "She chatted with a few of the fans that were there. She was lovely and let us take some photos."
