What books would you recommend for President Obama's daughters? Some clues as to what Malia, 14, and 11-year-old Sasha will be reading this christmas emerged at the weekend when they slipped out with their dad to go shopping in a local bookshop in Arlington, Virginia.
Though the details of the 15 books they chose were officially hush-hush, two titles were just visible when a photographer just happened to snap bookshop staff bundling up their choices. They were Delirium and Pandemonium, the first two volumes in a young adult trilogy by the American writer Lauren Oliver.
The trilogy has yet to be reviewed on the site, though we're expecting a verdict from site member Reenie any day now, and Delirium is on its way to the big screen, so we'll no doubt be hearing a lot more about it soon.
What we can tell you is that they're dystopian fantasies set in a world in which love has been declared a deadly disease. Oh, and "the government demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen". Are Sasha and Malia trying to tell their father something? Watch out Daddy Obama - you might just have two rebels on your hands.

Merry Christmas, Big Hungry Bear isn't just a great follow-up to another favourite, The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear (once read on TV by another President!), it's full of Christmas spirit and fun.
