‘Guardiola must be shaking’ - Chelsea fans celebrate confirmation of Tuchel’s new deal

Thomas Tuchel has committed his future to Chelsea by penning a new three-year deal.

The German’s new contract was announced on Friday afternoon following a fantastic few months in charge.

Taking the reins from Frank Lampard in January on an initial 18-month contract, the former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain tactician led the Blues back into the Premier League top four in just five months in charge.

Meanwhile, he also managed to write his name into Chelsea folklore by lifting the club’s second-ever UEFA Champions League crown in Porto last weekend.

The Londoners also managed to reach the FA Cup final under his stewardship but lost out to Leicester City in the final at Wembley Stadium.

In all, the German has overseen 31 matches in charge of the Blues in all competitions and has managed to win 20 of those

Tuchel’s excellent work thus far has convinced the club to hand him a new deal that is set to run until the summer of 2024, with his original contract set to expire next summer.

The news was greeted with glee by Chelsea fans after the work that Tuchel has done at Stamford Bridge.

They took to social media on Friday afternoon to express their delight.

After penning a new deal, Tuchel will now aim to turn his attentions to next season.

The Blues will aim to defend their Champions League crown, whilst also hoping to improve on their fourth-placed finish.

Tuchel will also look forward to navigating his first summer transfer window in West London.
