Welcome to the City Is Ours daily news round-up.
Maybe not the first - we've definitely done transfer and European round-ups before - so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all.
Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories doing the daily rounds.
A European heavyweight is eying a move for one of Pep Guardiola’s first-choice centre-backs, while domestic interest in one of Manchester City's brightest young things has apparently been rebuffed.
Real Madrid eye centre-back raid
Real Madrid are keen on Aymeric Laporte as Carlo Ancelotti's side looks to bolster the heart of their defence, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.
Los Blancos were reportedly interested in the 27-year-old centre-half over the summer buts talks only got so far as City naming a price for the Spanish side, according to a report by Daily Mail.
The article claims that City had labelled the Spanish international at £60 million and would not stand in Laporte's way if said valuation was met.

However, the defender has since reinstated his international reputation by becoming a mainstay for club and country, so Real might have missed the boat.
Brighton bid for McAtee rejected
James McAtee was one of six academy standouts to be handed a first-team debut in the 6-1 Carabao Cup win over Wycombe Wanderers last month.
However, the creative midfield's most eye-catching contributions so far this term have come for the EDS. He scored hat-tricks in victories over Blackburn Rovers and Manchester United and also found the net in the UEFA Youth League against RB Leipzig.
Such form has not gone unnoticed by Brighton and Hove Albion, who have had an £8 million bid for McAtee rejected, according to The Athletic .

Crystal Palace and West Ham have also been credited with an interest in the 18-year-old, who has represented England at U18 and U20 level.
Theo Hernandez delights City fans but gets Deschamps challenge
AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez was linked with City's on-going vacancy in terms of a specialist left-back after the transfer window closed.
Making his second appearance as a full international for France on Thursday, Hernandez fired home a thrilling late winner as Les Bleus came from 2-0 down to defeat Belgium 3-2 and book a place in the Nations League final.
The prospect of Kevin De Bruyne and his battered ankle playing a period of extra time was one no City supporter was particularly keen on, meaning Hernandez's strike endeared him to the blue side of Manchester.
Nevertheless, France boss Didier Deschamps feels the 24-year-old has room for improvement. Pep might want to take note.
“I’ve been thinking about him for a while, he is doing really well and he is continuing to do so, even if he must improve defensively," Deschamps said of Hernandez's prolonged wait for international honours.
