Guardian Australia has been honoured with two Walkley Awards at this year’s ceremony.
The awards, now in their 61st year, celebrate excellence in journalism in Australia.
Ben Doherty was awarded a Walkley in the Print/Text Feature Writing Short category, for his story about Kurdish refugee Fazel Chegeni.
Economic columnist Greg Jericho also won an award in the Nikon-Walkley Feature/Photographic Essay category for his collection of columns “Politics, the planet and the personal”, which touched on Australian politics, climate change and his relationship with his daughter Emma.
