Newspapers from Nottingham, Oxford and York universities have been shortlisted for the student publication of the year prize at the 2014 Guardian Student Media Awards.
Three York publications – The Lemon Press, Nouse and York Vision – are in the running for the prestigious award along with Nottingham’s Impact magazine and the Oxford Medical School Gazette.
The full shortlist for the 36th annual Guardian Student Media Awards was published on Wednesday. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 27 November.
More than 700 entrants put themselves forward for this year’s awards, which were judged by senior industry figures including the Guardian News & Media editor-in-chief Alan Rusbridger, Financial Times deputy editor John Thornhill and Cate Sevilla, managing editor of Buzzfeed UK.
University of Exeter’s Exeposé, University of Sheffield’s Forge Today and University of Warwick’s Belle Jar were among the entries for the student website of the year category.
