Guardian Public Service Awards 2016: the category shortlist

Here’s the shortlist in all nine categories for this year’s Public Service Awards. Winners announced 29 November.

The judges have met and deliberated and we are now delighted to announce the shortlisted projects and teams in each of the nine categories in this year’s Guardian Public Service Awards.


The winners and runners-up will be announced at our awards ceremony in November 2016 and a special supplement will be published online and in the paper on 30 November 2016.

This category celebrates the best of the individual category winners deemed by the judges to be the strongest of this year’s entries. This project or team will have demonstrated an exceptional level of application, innovation and achievement, and will have delivered substantial improvement in a public service that has made a real difference to people’s lives.

This award will be announced at the awards evening in November 2016.

Public Servant of the Year

Five public servants have been shortlisted for this prestigious award, which is now openfor public vote. You have until 30 September 2016 to cast your vote - and you may vote only once.
