How do you beat the January blues? We want to hear your tips on how to be happy. Is it a state of being or is it down to the everyday choices we make?

On 20 January, Guardian Members is holding a Guardian Live/Idler Academy event on what it means to be happy with Anthony Seldon, co-founder of Action for Happiness, and Rachel Kelly, author of Walking on Sunshine: 52 small steps to happiness. Ahead of this this event, we want to hear your tips.

So what makes you happy? Do you have any life hacks on how to maintain a postive outlook? Share your picture and thoughts and we will publish some of the best ones in an online gallery.
