Guardian Election Daily podcast: Conservative manifesto 2010

David Cameron chose the inside of the disused Battersea power station for the launch of the Conservatives' 2010 manifesto. It is a document he claims is nothing like any manifesto seen from a British political party.

On hand to give their takes on how he performed we have the playwright David Hare, columnist Jonathan Freedland and, from the News of the World's politics team, David Wooding.

The launch was predictably well received by party rank-and-file. We hear from a breathless Francis Maude and his shadow cabinet colleagues Greg Clark and Sir George Young.

Meanwhile Martin Wainwright presents the view on the ground from Sunderland. The Tories require a 12-point swing to take the seat vacated by Labour's Chris Mullin, but they are starting to talk up their chances.

Finally, we cram into a tiny room in Millbank for the launch of Ukip's low-budget manifesto. According to a frank-speaking Nigel Farage: "Britain's skint".
