Guardian Camera Club: Tim Dennell on depth of field
Spider Bridge. Spider Bridge AKA Cobweb Bridge, just off the Wicker in Sheffield, forms part of the Five Weirs Walk and is held in place inside a tunnel by a lattice-work of suspension and tensioning cables. The bridge forms a walkway over the River Don and joins footpaths on opposite sides of the river Photograph: Tim Dennell/FlickrChristmas Portrait. Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens. f2.8. Flash used from side. The intention was to produce a nice, out of focus background Photograph: Tim Dennell/FlickrShhh!Nikon 60mm 2.8 lens. F3.2. The intention was to draw attention to the finger and nail art whilst blurring focus in the background Photograph: Tim Dennell/Flickr
Sweets and Santa. Market stall, Fargate, Sheffield. f1.8. My aim was to isolate Santa and produce nice bokeh in the background Photograph: Tim Dennell/FlickrTiger in a Glass Cabinet. Zoom @ F5.6 to blur from foreground to background. Seen in Millennium galleries Photograph: Tim Dennell/FlickrEye of the Beholder. Nikon 60mm 2.8 lens. f22. The 60mm has a very shallow DoF so I used f22 to try and deepen it as far a possible so as to capture detail. Tripod mount, cable release, autofocus & flashes used Photograph: Tim Dennell/Flickr
