Guardian Camera Club: Joe the Celt on photographing a 24-hour narrative

1. 100's of years in an Irish bog: This is a piece of bog wood dug out of a turf field, has been drying in a cubby hole for a few years. Photo was taken with 'blub' for about 4 mins, using just candle light moving around wood and for last 30 sec moved candle flame around edge Photograph: Joe the Celt/Flickr

2. Time difference: Time difference between me and the wee man is forty years, he is four. Marking where he has to cut Photograph: Joe the Celt/Flickr

3. Time changing act: The wee man makes his first cut changing the wood forever Photograph: Joe the Celt/Flickr

4. Primary colour, primary craft: Time spent cutting and craving the wood, used a colour changing juggling ball around the outside of wood and then dropped ball in hole we had craved out to show the change, again photographed with 'bulb' setting for about 3 mins Photograph: Joe the Celt/Flickr

5. Time piece: Fit an old car dashboard clock from the 1930's into the wood. Again used 'blub' for about 3 mins but used a SB600 flash off camera bouncing of ceiling at different angles Photograph: Joe the Celt/Flickr
