Guardian Camera Club: Jill Henry on autumn colour photography
Faded. This is sumac, which grows wild and profusely all over the north east of America and eastern Canada. Its leaves turn brilliant red in the autumn. This little patch was in a protected spot and had faded to a mixture of pink and green. I was particularly struck by the way that the leaves curled underneath the main stem and the contrast between the bright white underside with the more colourful topsidePhotograph: Jill Henry/flickrFruit.The blemish on the fruit may be a bit of a distraction, but at least it gave me something to focus on!Photograph: Jill Henry/flickrLiquid. I wanted to create a soft, gentle feel to the set and to give my new macro lens a workout at the same timePhotograph: Jill Henry/flickr

The rain seems to resonate with the autumn mood. All of these pictures in this set were taken in Boston, Massachusetts either in the Boston Public Garden (a city park) or the local arboretumPhotograph: Jill Henry/flickrGlory.Your staple maple.
