Guardian Camera Club: Jack Farrow portfolio review
Tree: This was taken near Holme Pierpoint in Nottingham, I was originally looking for a barn but came across this tree instead. Edited to enhance the sky, but looks a little dark in places. The use of black and white is nice but perhaps you should have isolated it more from the other tree on the rightPhotograph: Jack FarrowBarbwire: This photo was taken in the city centre of Nottingham off the edge of a building so there was a 100ft drop or so under the barbwire. Edited in photoshop to enhance the contrast.Nice, strong graphic shapes in this picture. Another photograph very well suited to black and whitePhotograph: Jack FarrowPylonlandscape: This photo was taken in Nottingham, at Spinney Woods. Edited to give it quite a high saturation. I think it was also shot using a polarizer.Looks like you have stumbled upon the good old golden section, perhaps you meant it. The result is certainly pleasing to the eye. Nicely saturated and a good, strong diagonal from the telegraph wiresPhotograph: Jack Farrow
Swimming pool: Taken in West Bridgford, Nottingham for a project on abandonment.Perhaps the least successful picture from an aesthetic point of view but, if the brief was abandonment, it certainly fulfills it. The air of melancholy juxtaposed with the blue sky works well Photograph: Jack Farrow
