The Guardian Camera Page is the main place to get information from about the Guardian Camera Club. Please check the page regularly if you are interested in participating. On this page you will be able to see:
a. blogs (including tips and thoughts on monthly assignments
b. reviews of portfolios and assignments which have been submitted through flickr
c. audio assignments and videos relating to monthly assignments
The flickr group is a means of submitting your pictures to the Guardian Picture Editors. Pictures submitted should be for a portfolio review and/or an assignment (pictures for the monthly assignment should NOT have been taken BEFORE the assignment was announced. The challenge is to take a set of pictures in response to a particular brief). A portfolio or an assignment submission should not consist of more than six pictures. Each picture should be tagged appropriately. Any pictures which don't fulfill the criteria will be removed from the group. We look through every picture in order to select images for review so unfortunately can't accept pictures which don't apply.
The Guardian Camera Club is now in partnership with Nikon. Each month you have an opportunity to enter a photograph in a competition (the prize is a Nikon D5000). This competition ties in with the monthly assignment and your entry should be a single image from that set of pictures (and is therefore bound by the rules of the assignment). As the rules state 'To win the camera, we want you to pick the best shot from of your assignment photos and email it to us'.
There has been some confusion this month on whether the assignment is on competitive or general cycling. Competitive cycling would be preferable but, due to an understandable lack of access for all involved we'll also accept pictures of general cycling. Tom Jenkins is our sports photographer and was keen to photograph the sporting side of cycling.
