Guardian Camera Club: Colin Fenn Photography's portfolio review
Woman pushing pram, Pittenweem: It's to do with the geometry...All six pictures work really well together as a set. The muted colours are effective. Quiet shots of people going about their day. The whole impression is quite gentle, very British and has a Martin Parr flavour. The subjects are oblivious to the photgrapher, enabling the viewer to be non-intrusive. Numbers one and five are particularly successful. Number one has good diagonal lines and number five has an unexpected framePhotograph: Colin Fenn Photography/flickrBusker, Pittenweem: There seems to be a strange tension in his shot: the bike goes to the left, one way and guitar to the right and so on... Photograph: Colin Fenn Photography/flickrFour stories in Pittenweem: This looks theatrical, a set-up although the shot was not posed. Four distinct narratives.Slightly unreal feeling caused by the lack of trafficPhotograph: Colin Fenn Photography/flickr
Man and woman with window, Pittenweem: The man seems to float while the woman loses her feet! I was caught by the naturalness of her stroll contrasting with the high-tech of the fishing fleet.Photograph: Colin Fenn Photography/flickr
