The Hairways Studio. When he's not delivering a smart haircut, Tony Antoniou is active on behalf of Willesden businesses and was awarded for his community work. He has been running his shop for over 20 years. Tony is very proud of his brand new window design Photograph: Anja Klemensek/FlickrNew Willesden Green. Brent Council and Design For London have teamed up to revitalize the shabby high streets of Willesden Green. It is common for the more fashionable shopping areas of the city to receive this sort of attention. The project is an exciting opportunity to revive and improve Willesden High Road bringing positive change to the area Photograph: Anja Klemensek/FlickrFairy Tale Playwoods. The children’s library forecourt has a forest of plywood trees festooned with cut-out squirrels, frogs, pigeons and rabbits where children can sit and listen to the fairy tales played on a loop through loudspeakers. Farmers' Market. This has fast become a favorite Sunday morning fixture in the area. Filled with families, friends and neighbours the market attracts attention for its range of stalls - organic meat and poultry, hot from the pan sausage sandwiches, fresh mushrooms, fruit, veg and homemade bread and cakes Photograph: Anja Klemensek/FlickrHealthy Foods. Buywise is a bright and welcoming mini market with a fine array of fresh vegetables and grocery products.
