Guardian Camera Club: Amythyst Lake on capturing movement
Wheels: A car speeding by a parked car on Revere Beach Parkway resulted in an abstract effect Photograph: Amythyst Lake/FlickrDowntown Crossing: Thirteen inches of rain fell on Boston during March, which is easily an all time record. I took this one downtown at lunch time during (yet another) torrential downpour Photograph: Amythyst Lake/FlickrCars: Much panning of traffic outside the cinema on Boston Common eventually led to an interesting shot. I'm pretty pleased with this one Photograph: Amythyst Lake/Flickr
Pond Closed: This is the Frog Pond on Boston Common (Boston Massachusetts). A month ago it was still open for ice skating (hence the sign). As I walked by, an impromptu soccer game was going on and this little girl was playing along with the big kids. While they were packing up to go, she continued to kick the ball around on her own and I took this shot Photograph: Amythyst Lake/FlickrBody Language: An experiment in panning the crowd at a pedestrian crossing near Fanueil Hall in Boston. Rather than follow an individual person, I just let the camera move at the approximate speed of the crowd. This led to some rather interesting results - 'people abstracts' almost Photograph: Amythyst Lake/FlickrBlurred Vision: Revere Beach, just north of Boston on a stormy day. The waves are quite small by most standards, but they are big for us! I was trying to soften the image and get an effect akin to brush strokes by sweeping the camera across the scene Photograph: Amythyst Lake/Flickr
