Guardian, BuzzFeed and Vice win at awards ceremony

The Guardian picked up three prizes at this year’s Association of Online Publishers (AOP) Digital Publishing Awards, including consumer digital publisher of the year and best mobile app.

At a ceremony hosted by actor Rufus Hound in London’s Roundhouse, the judges said the Guardian app was a “clear winner” as they gave it the award for best use of mobile.

The Guardian also won prizes for digital advertising operations team of the year.

Other winners were BuzzFeed UK, which won editorial team of the year, and Vice News, which won awards for best use of video and launch 2015.

Tim Faircliff, executive chairman of the AOP, said: “The winners and finalists at this year’s AOP Digital Publishing Awards were truly outstanding and have raised the bar for the industry once again.

“Their accomplishments in engagement, creativity and driving progression in digital media were impressive and we’re proud to take this opportunity to applaud the best in the sector.”
