Offensive lineman Mike Iupati hasn’t played a snap for the Seahawks this summer but does have a shot to appear in the home opener Sunday afternoon when Seattle squares off against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The offensive lineman was added to the squad as a free agent in March but sat out all of the preseason battling calf and foot injuries.
“Mike Iupati practiced today for the first time,” coach Pete Carroll said Friday afternoon. “He had teamwork today and Mike got through fine. Again for Mike, we gotta wait and see what happens – all the way to game day for him.
“But he did work, and he’s had a great buildup, he’s had no setbacks in the last month so it’s really close.”
Iupati was listed on Friday’s injury report as questionable to play Week 1 against the Bengals. Should he be unable to make the start, Ethan Pocic would get the nod for the Seahawks.
